Šipan

Suđurađ is still dominated by the summer residences of the most important figures in Šipan's history:Tomo Skočibuha and his son Vice,whos,and patrons  built up a successful shipyard and merchant fleet,and became among the wealthiest merchants and bankers in the Republic.Both true Renaissance men,they were great builders of churche,and patrons of the arts.They left many cultural and artistic monuments;their palazzos inside the city walls in Dubrovnik at Boninovo were among the finest.They built fortress like houses in Suđurađ side by side,one in 1529,one in 1577 the second added.it is said,because Vice's wife couldn't get on with her mother in low.
